Patrick Alvey (c.1889-1918)
An ongoing project to commemorate and research the lives of those who appear on war memorials and rolls of honour in the local area, who served in the military, or whose deaths were linked to conflict.
Biography
Patrick Alvey was the son of mason's labourer Thomas Alvey and his wife Annie (née Brennan).
At the time of the 1891 Census, the family was living at Jowitt's Square, off Water Lane, Huddersfield. By 1901, they were living at 28 Dock Street.
Patrick enlisted with the 2nd Battalion Duke Of Wellington's Regiment and was recorded as a Private in the 1911 Census at the Candahar Military Barracks, Tidworth Camp.
