Paddock Horticultural, Floricultural, Pig, Poultry and Dog Association

The "Paddock Horticultural, Floricultural, Pig, Poultry and Dog Association" was formed around 1870. It was likely a progression of the Huddersfield Pig Protection Society (active from 1866 to 1869), as the same officials were named in newspaper articles, including president and treasurer Charles Frederick Hallas, and his son Joseph who again acted as secretary.

By 1876, it was reportedly named the "Paddock Horticultural, Floral, Horse, Pig, Poultry Pigeon, Rabbit, Dog and Cat Society" when, in a curious turn of events, both Charles and Joseph Hallas sued the society for non-payment of prize money!
