Ordnance Survey Six Inch: CCLX N.E.

The CCLX N.E. sheet — originally surveyed in the mid-1800s as the part of the Yorkshire 260 sheet — covers Almondbury, Armitage Bridge, Berry Brow, Castle Hill, Farnley Tyas, Lockwood and Newsome.

A high-resolution coloured version of the 1908 map can be viewed here and is also available to purchase at our online shop — the income will be used to help secure more historic materials for this web site.

During the Second World War, the German Military High Command prepared a map (BB9AD) based on this sheet, which included markers to locations of strategic interest.
