Ordnance Survey First Series: Yorkshire 281
The Yorkshire 281 sheet was part of the Ordnance Survey's "First Series" of county maps and was surveyed between 1850 and 1851.
Details
The Ordnance Survey first undertook a full surveying of the country between 1842 and 1893, which resulted in the "First Series" of maps. These were published as a series of large sheets for each county at a scale of six inches to the mile or 1:10,560.

The subsequent 1890s revision of the six inch map was subdivided into four separate sheets: CCLXXXI N.W., CCLXXXI N.E., CCLXXXI S.W. and CCLXXXI S.E.
