HUDDERSFIELD ROAD (Honley). Northgate House. Large detached house. Early C19 with later addition. For William Brooke (1764-1846). Ashlar. Hipped slate roof with two ashlar stacks and moulded eaves cornice. Two storeys. Sill band to ground and first floors. Garden front: five bays of sashes with glazing bars, the central three forming two storey canted bay. Entrance front: three bays. Central door with round fanlight. Doric portico with frieze, cornice and blocking course. Sashes with glazing bars. To rear is later two storey extension in keeping. Interior said to have ornamental cast iron staircase balustrade.
