Norman Pickles (c.1889-1916)

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- PICKLES, NORMAN. Lance Corporal. No 14060. 9th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Clifton, Brighouse. Lived 9 Smithy Place, Brockholes. Was the goalkeeper for the Netherthong Association football team. Employed as a plasterer by Mr A. Peaker of Meltham. Had also worked at Thongsbridge and Brockholes Railway Stations. Married, with three children. Reported missing, presumed killed, 7.7.1916, aged 27 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
