Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HIRST, NORMAN. Ordinary Seaman. No J/55990 (PO). Royal Navy. HMS Victory. Son of the late Mr and Mrs Henry Hirst, 30 Ingfield Terrace, Manchester Road, Linthwaite. Attended Slaithwaite Wesleyan Sunday School. Was a member of Slaithwaite Socialist Club. Employed in the warehouse by Messrs W. E. Cotton and Sons Limited, of Slaithwaite. Called up from the Naval Reserve in July, 1916. Died in hospital at Plymouth, 4.12.1916, aged 22 years, after an illness lasting over ten weeks. Buried SLAITHWAITE CEMETERY. Grave location:- B, 1, 89.
