The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

EWART, NORMAN. Private. No 44725. 10th Battalion Essex Regiment. Born Engine Bridge. Son of Mrs Ewart, 204 Albert Street, Lockwood. Educated Mount Pleasant Board School. Employed as a mule piecer. Reported missing, 23.8.1918. Has no known grave. Commemorated VIS-en-ARTOIS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
