The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

EARNSHAW, NORMAN. Ordinary Seaman. No J/82270. (Dev). Royal Navy. HM Drifter Vanguard. Born Honley. Son of the late Sam Earnshaw of Magdale, Honley. Lived with his brother, Harry Earnshaw, at Lockwood Scar, Huddersfield. Enlisted in the Royal Navy in November, 1917. Drowned at sea, 10.9.1918, aged 18 years. Buried St. FINIAN'S CEMETERY, CASTLETOWN BEREHAVEN, COUNTY CORK, EIRE. Grave location: in North-East part.
