Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

BATES, NORMAN. Acting Corporal. No A/257233. Army Service Corps. (Canteens). Born Huddersfield. Son of Norris and Ellen Bates, 22 Edgerton Road, North Shore, Blackpool. Died of sickness in Mesopotamia, 29.6.17. Buried in BASRA WAR CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 4, Row H, Grave 11. (Brother of Private DONALD BATES, killed in action, 30.11.1917, q.v.).
ROH:- memorial in Salendine Nook Churchyard.
