Netherton Wesleyan Carol Singers

The Netherton Wesleyan Carol Singers — later known as the Netherton Methodist Carol Singers — were formed in 1862 when John William Mellor (later the proprietor of the Hope Bank Pleasure Grounds), James Taylor, Joseph Schofield and Josh Brook went out singing on Christmas Eve to raise funds for the local chapel.
