The first temporary Sunday School building was the relocated "tin tabernacle" (originally located on Mint Street) which was moved to this location in the early 1890s following the opening of the new Gledholt Chapel and is marked on the 1906 O.S. map.

The current building was erected in £5,600 in 1908.[1]
