Marmaduke Hebden (c.1714-1784)

Marmaduke Hebden was an eighteenth century Huddersfield businessman whose decision to build property near to the River Colne led to the area being named "Folly Hall".

Biography

He was baptised on 19 January 1714 at Huddersfield Parish Church, the son of Christopher Hebden of Grange Moor.

He married Anne Horncastle on 12 June 1751 at Huddersfield. They had one known son:

  • Walter Hebden (1762-1821)

He died in November 1784 and was buried on 24 November at Huddersfield Parish Church.
