Loyal "Redemption" Lodge No. 232 of the Independent Order of Oddfellows (Manchester Unity)

The Loyal "Redemption" Lodge (No. 232) was a lodge of the Independent Order of Oddfellows (Manchester Unity) formed in 1827 at Marsden.

History

The Lodge's 1852 anniversary dinner was held on Easter Monday at the British Queen Inn with around 170 members in attendance.[1]

Their 29th anniversary dinner was held at the New Inn on 25 March 1856 with about 130 members. The annual report stated that the lodge had 247 members and had made a profit of £69 during the year, meaning that their total finances stood at nearly £1,100.[2]

Around 120 members attended the 1857 dinner which was held on Easter Monday at the New Inn. The annual reported stated that the lodge had "upwards of 240 members".[3]
