Loyal "Cornwallis" Lodge No. 46 of the Independent Order of Oddfellows (Manchester Unity)

The Loyal "Cornwallis" Lodge (No. 46) was a lodge of the Independent Order of Oddfellows (Manchester Unity) formed at Moldgreen.

The lodge possibly took its name from the Cornwallis stage coach which travelled the route from Manchester to Wakefield, passing through Moldgreen.

History

The lodge's 1856 anniversary dinner was held on 22 September at the Star Inn, Bridge End, with around 130 members in attendance.[1]
