Loyal "Albion" Lodge No. 354 of the Independent Order of Oddfellows (Manchester Unity)

The Loyal "Albion" Lodge (No. 354) was a lodge of the Independent Order of Oddfellows (Manchester Unity) formed at Honley and who met at the Coach and Horses Inn.

History

Around 70 "wives and female friends" of the lodge members held a tea party at the Coach and Horses Inn in January 1851. The Chronicle reported that "both during and after tea, great pleasantness and cheerfulness prevailed".[1] A similar event for "wives and sweethearts" in January 1853 attracted around 100 women.[2]
