Loyal "Progressive Friendship" Lodge No. 229 of the National Independent Order of Oddfellows

The Loyal "Progressive Friendship" Lodge (No. 229) was a lodge of the National Independent Order of Oddfellows formed in 1852 who met at the Crown Hotel on Westgate, Huddersfield.

History

The lodge's third anniversary dinner was held on New Year's Day 1855 at the Crown Hotel with upwards of 60 members in attendance.[1] The 1857 dinner was also held at the Crown on New Year's Day and was attended by around 70 members.[2]
