Lower Mill, South Crosland

GEOGRAPHIC STUB
This page is a bare-bones entry for a specific location. More detailed information may eventually be added...

Lower Mill is a former mill that was situated near to Bent Ley Mill and was just within the South Crosland boundary.

History

The mill appears on the 1854 Ordnance Survey map and is listed as a separate mill to Bent Ley Mill until at least the mid-1960s.

Census returns link the mill to a farm, implying it was likely a small family-run mill.

It is uncertain when the mill and other nearby buildings were abandoned and demolished, and there is little evidence remaining of their existence.
