SCHOOL HILL. South Crosland. Nos 4, 6 and 8 (Lower Batter Farmhouse). C18. Hammer dressed stone. Pitched stone slate roof. Coped gables with moulded kneelers. Two storeys. First floor has three stone mullioned windows, one with two lights, one with three, and one with six. Ground floor also has three stone mullioned windows, one with two, one with four, and one with three. Former entrance to first floor at west end, now blocked and outside staircase removed. Extension to north-east similar, with two sash windows (intermediate blocked light) on first floor and one two-light sash on ground floor.
