Reviews
The Bioscope (25/Mar/1915):
Love and a Legacy. — Comedy of village courtship, with some clever knockabout business. The widow Dunn (Miss Lily Ward) turns upon her female enemies and subjects them to some unexpected assaults. Broad rustic humour, and a set of effective sub-titles in poetic (?) vein. (May 6th. 679 ft.)
Kinematograph Weekly (01/Apr/1915):
Love and a Legacy (Bamforth, Co). — Widow Dunn secures a small legacy and it changes the whole tenor of her existence. All the yokels at the village court her for her money. One by one the suitors are rejected, and each departs vowing vengeance. The spurned women folk, too, hold an indignation meeting, at which it is decided to wreak vengeance on the widow. She is warned of the attempt by Mike, and they outwit the crowd, and it is certain that Mrs. Dunn eventually shares the delights of connubial bliss with Mike. Released May 6th, length 679 ft.
