Louis Hinchliffe (?-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922
The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- HINCHLIFFE, LOUIS. Private. No 41529. 1/5th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment. Born Huddersfield. Youngest son of Mr and Mrs George Hinchliffe, 10 Barlboro Place, Scar Lane, Milnsbridge. Was a cornet player in the Milnsbridge Socialist Brass Band. Attended St. Michael's Mission Church. Employed by Messrs Joseph Dyson and Sons, Milnsbridge. Enlisted September 1916. Embarked for France on New Years Day, 1917. In March, 1917, he was brought to Bradford wounded and suffering from trench feet. He returned to France on 7.6.1917. Was reported missing, presumed killed, 9.10.1917. Buried DOCHY FARM NEW BRITISH CEMETERY, LANGEMARCK, BELGIUM. Grave location:- Plot 1, Row E, Grave 28.
