Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WINTERBOTTOM, LEWIS. Lance Corporal. No 11680. 2nd Battalion King's Own Scottish Borderers. Born Fartown Green Road, Fartown, Huddersfield. Son of Lucretia Winterbottom, Sour Milk Hall, Claremount, Halifax. Educated Hilhouse Board School. Single. Enlisted in the King's Own Scottish Borderers in September, 1913. Reported missing, presumed killed, on 4.10.1917 in the attack on Broodseinde during the Battle of Passchendaele, aged 21. Has no known grave. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
