Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922
The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- TARBATT, LEWIS. Private. No 31574. 1st Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment. Born Birchencliffe 9.12.1897. Son of John C Tarbatt, Oak Cottage, 2 Edgerton, Huddersfield. Educated Hillhouse Secondary School. Employed as an apprentice joiner. Enlisted 8.6.1917. Reported missing at Wytschaete on 25.4.1918 and afterwards presumed to have been killed on that date. Has no known grave. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
