Lewis Earnshaw (c.1885-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

EARNSHAW, LEWIS. Private. No 38540. 1st Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers. Formerly No 273141 Army Service Corps (Motor Transport). Born Hanley, Staffordshire. Lived Golcar Brow, Meltham. Son of Mrs Hannah Steet of Little Dene, Meltham. Attended Christ Church, Helme. Employed as a millwright at Messrs Eastwood Brothers Limited, of Honley. Killed in action, 7.8.1917, aged 32 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated MENIN GATE MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
