Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

BOTTOMLEY, LEWIS. Private. No S/18016. 1st Battalion Cameron Highlanders. Born Crosland Moor, 23.6.1887. Educated at Crosland Moor Board School. At the time of enlistment was employed as a weaver at Peebles, Scotland. Single. Enlisted 3.5.1915. Killed in action on the Somme, 18.8.1916, aged 29 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated on the THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
