HUDDERSFIELD.

Huddersfield and Manchester Railway.

On Monday last, a meeting of the provisional committee of the Huddersfield and Manchester Railway and Canal Company was held at the Hotel, at Normanton, for the purpose of distributing the shares. In consequence of the great number of applications, the committee created 3,500 more, making a total of 23,500 shares of £30 each; deposit, 30s. per share. 5000 shares were appropriated to the inhabitants of Huddersfield, the holders of the canal shares, retain 6000, and the others are distributed in Manchester and other places. There were applications for 72,000 shares, and they are now at a premium of £2 2s!!
