The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

FIELD, LAWRENCE WILLIAM. Private. No 53206. 10th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment. Born Skelmanthorpe. Son of Willie and Elizabeth Field, of Commercial Road, Skelmanthorpe. Assisted his father in the grocery and corn business. Killed in action, 24.8.1918, aged 19 years. Buried POZIERES BRITISH CEMETERY. Grave location:- 4, T, 39.
ROH:- St. Aidan's Church, Skelmanthorpe.
