Be it known that at the date hereunder written the last Will and Testament with a Codicil thereto of Aner Bailey of Upper Bridge, Holmfirth, near Huddersfield in the County of York, deceased, who died on the 24th day of July 1895, at Upper Bridge aforesaid and who at the time of her [sic] death had a fixed place of abode at Upper Bridge aforesaid with the District of the West Riding of the County of York was proved and registered in the District Probate Registry of Her Majesty’s High Court of Justice at Wakefield and that Administration of the person estate of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to Ann Moorhouse of New Mill near Huddersfield, aforesaid, Widow, the sister of the said deceased and William Moorhouse of Batley Carr near Dewsbury in the said County, mungo merchant, the nephew of the said deceased, the Executors named in the said Will, they having been first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same.


This is the last Will and Testament of me Aner Bailey of Upper Bridge Holmfirth near Huddersfield in the County of York. Retired Tailor. I appoint my sister Ann Moorhouse of Newmill near Huddersfield aforesaid Widow and my nephew William Moorhouse of Batley Carr near Dewsbury in the County of York, Mungo Merchant, (hereafter called “my Trustees”) Trustees and Executors of this my Will. I give, devise and bequeath all my real and personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Trustees upon trust, after payment out of my personal estate of all my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses, to pay the income arising from my real and personal estate unto my said sister Ann Moorhouse during her life and after her decease as to all my real estate. Upon trust for my said nephew William Moorhouse during his life and after his decease. In trust for all the children of the said William Moorhouse in equal shares absolutely and as to my personal estate upon trust for my said nephew William Moorhouse absolutely. I revoke all former Wills by me at anytime heretofore made and declare this to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty seventh day of April one thousand eight hundred and ninety three.

This is a Codicil to the above written Will of me Aner Bailey. I give the following Legacies namely to my niece Sarah Cameron and my great nieces Ann Bailey Blackburn and Ellen Day the legacy or sum of fifty pounds each and direct that the same shall be paid out of my personal estate by ten equal annual instalments of five pounds each, the first instalments to become payable at the end of twelve calendar months after my decease and that such legacies shall not […?] interest. And in case of the death of any of the said persons such legacies shall be paid to their children equally. And I confirm my said Will in all other respects. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty seventh day of June one thousand eight hundred and ninety three.
