Kenneth Anderson Clayton (1892-1916)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

CLAYTON, KENNETH ANDERSON. Private. No 9464. 1st Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment. Born Deighton, Huddersfield, 17.2.1892. Son of Mr and Mrs A E Clayton, 3 Grizedale Avenue, Birkby. Educated at Heywood School, Lancashire. Formerly articled to an accountant in London. Enlisted in the army in 1911. Had served in India before the war and came over with the Indian contingent at Christmas, 1914. Wounded in the legs, 6.5.1915. Returned to France in February, 1916. Killed in action at Guedecourt, 25.9.1916. Has no known grave. Commemorated on the THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
