The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

COCK, JOSHUA HAROLD BLACKBURN. Private. No 28915. 13th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. Born Golcar. Son of the late Joe and Elizabeth Mary Cock, of Bank Top, Golcar. Brother of Mrs Ed Sykes, 131 Radcliffe Road, Golcar. Employed as a stonemason on his own account. Enlisted 28.8.1916. Reported missing, presumed killed, 16.6.1917, aged 35 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated on the ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
