Joseph Scaife (1897-1918)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922
The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- SCAIFE, JOSEPH. 2nd Lieutenant. 1st Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment, attached 2nd Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment. Son of Mr and Mrs E. Scaife, Thornes, Lepton. Prior to enlistment, was employed as a clerk by Messrs Kilner Brothers, Whitley Willow Mills. Reported wounded and missing, 21.3.1918 and afterwards presumed to have been killed on that date. Has no known grave. Commemorated ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
