Joseph Garbutt (c.1887-1915)

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- GARBUTT, JOSEPH. Private. No 3/8389. 2nd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment. Born Eston near Middlesbrough. 6.11.1887. Son of Henry and Rachel Garbutt, 492 One Ash Terrace, Leeds Road, Huddersfield. Educated at Barnaby Moor near Middlesbrough. Employed as a weaver by Messrs Learoyd Brothers. Single. Enlisted 22.8.1914. Killed in action at Neuve Chapelle, 14.5.1915, aged 27 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated LE TOURET MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
