Joseph Albert Hepworth (1899-1918)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HEPWORTH, JOSEPH ALBERT. Private. No 62109. 15th/17th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment. Born Fremont, West Derby, Liverpool, 18.4.1899. Son of Albert and Annie Hepworth, Cliffe Gardens, Stubbins Vale, Ramsbottom, near Manchester, and formerly of 44 Clement Street, Birkby. Educated Liverpool Council School. Employed as an apprentice dyer by Messrs Brown and Company, Bay Hall, Birkby. Single. Enlisted 18.5.1917. Reported missing, presumed killed, 12.4.1918, aged 19. Has no known grave. Commemorated PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
