Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WRIGHT, JOHN WILLIAM. Private. No 82891. 230th Company, Machine Gun Corps. Formerly No 37891 York and Lancaster Regiment. Born Helmsley, Yorkshire. Married. Lived Lower Denby, Denby Dale, near Huddersfield. Employed as a gardener by Mr F. W. Sykes, Green Lea, Lindley, and then by Mr G. W. Wilby, of Norcroft, Denby Dale. Enlisted October 1916. Landed in Egypt on 1.6.1917. Killed in action in Palestine on 21.11.1917. Has no known grave. Commemorated JERUSALEM MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
