Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

BIRMINGHAM, JOHN WILLIAM. Private. No 5/3463. 1/5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Huddersfield 7.8.1895. Foster son of Mrs Firth, 6 Castlegate, Huddersfield. Educated at St. Patrick's School. Employed as an oiler at Albion Mills, Firth Street, Huddersfield. Single. Enlisted 6.11.1914. Killed in action at the Battle of the Somme, 4.7.1916, aged 20 years. Buried in CONNAUGHT CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 1, Row D, Grave 3.
