John Walshaw (c.1893-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WALSHAW, JOHN. Private. No M2/187879. 11th Divisional Supply Column, Army Service Corps. Born Denby Dale near Huddersfield. Son of Mr. J. Walshaw of Netherend, Denby Dale. Employed as a motor driver by Messrs Z. Hinchliffe and Sons, Hartcliffe Mills, Denby Dale. Was a scholar at the Primitive Methodist Sunday School. Enlisted in 1916. Embarked for France in June, 1916. Killed in action, 27.4.1917, aged 23 years. Buried GREVILLERS BRITISH CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 2, Row A, Grave 16.
