Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

BROWN, JOHN THOMAS. Lance Corporal. No 9738. 1st Battalion The King's (Liverpool Regiment). Born Huddersfield 2.10.1883. Foster son of Mrs Heath, 'Wells Tavern', Northgate, Huddersfield. Educated at St. Joseph's School, Huddersfield. Employed as a tramway conductor by the Huddersfield Corporation Tramways Department. Married. Living at 24 Portland Street, Huddersfield. Enlisted 4.8.1914. Killed in action during the Battle of the Somme, 8.8.1916. Has no known grave. Commemorated on the THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
