John Maude Weavill (1876-1918)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WEAVILL, JOHN MAUDE.Gunner. No 89648. 99th Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. Born Longwood Gate, Huddersfield. Eldest son of Mr and Mrs Tom Weavill and brother of Fred, Harry and John Weavill, 71 Cliffe End Hill, Longwood, Huddersfield. Educated Goitfield Council School. Employed as a woollen weaver. Enlisted June 1916. Was gassed and died from pneumonia at Boulogne Base Hospital on 5.7.1918. Buried TERLINCTHUN BRITISH CEMETERY.Grave location:- Plot 1, Row D, Grave 30.
