John Leslie Sunderland (1898-1917)

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- SUNDERLAND, JOHN LESLIE. Lance Corporal. No 30640. 2nd Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Son of Harry and Esther M. Sunderland, Yew Tree Terrace, Shepley. Employed as a plumber by Messrs J. Marsden and Sons, Market Place, Huddersfield. Killed in action at Passchendaele on 10.10.1917, 18 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
