John Lancaster (1890-1917)

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- LANCASTER, JOHN. Private. No 29789. 12th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. Born Thongsbridge 16.12.1890. Son of C. A. Lancaster, 62 Grove Street, Huddersfield. Educated at Oakworth School, near Keighley. Assisted in the management of the Spread Eagle Hotel, Manchester Street, Huddersfield. Was Superintendent of the High Street United Methodist Sunday School Primary Department. Married, with one child. Enlisted June 1916. Killed in action, 31.3.1917, aged 26 years. Buried BUCQUOY ROAD CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 6, Row E, Grave 22.
