Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WAGSTAFF, JOHN HERBERT. Fusilier. No 41062. 23rd (Tyneside Scottish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. Formerly No 31834 Durham Light Infantry. Born Hepworth, Holmfirth. Son of George and Jemima Wagstaffe, of Barracks Fold, Hepworth. Educated Hepworth National School. Attended Hepworth Church, where he was a member of the Bible Class. Employed by the Hepworth Iron Company and later at the Shaley Wood Pit. Enlisted January 1916. Killed in action, 9.9.1917, aged 21 years. Buried HARGICOURT BRITISH CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 1, Row B, Grave 32.
