John Henry Wood (c.1893-1918)

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- WOOD, JOHN HENRY, MM. Lance Corporal. No 38162. 15th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers (1st Salford Pals). Formerly No 32232 South Staffordshire Regiment. Born Linthwaite. Lived 59 Roydhouse, Linthwaite. Attended Linthwaite Church School. Employed as a crane driver by Messrs J. W. Mallinson, contractors, of Lockwood. Was a member of the Upper Wellhouse Working Men's Club. Enlisted November 1916. Killed in action, 20.3.1918, aged 24 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
