- PEEL, JOHN HENRY. Private. No 46630. 11th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. Born Thurstonland, Holmfirth. Son of James and Eliza Ann Peel of Millmoor, Meltham. Husband of Jane Peel, Sefton Lane, Meltham. Killed in action at Passchendaele, 20.9.1917, aged 30 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
- ROH:- St. Bartholomew's Church, Meltham.
- Brother of Private NORMAN PEEL killed in action, 23.4.1917.
