John Haigh Crossley (c.1897-1917)

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

CROSSLEY, JOHN HAIGH. Private. No 203450. 11th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. Son of Haigh and Elizabeth Crossley, 146 Manchester Road, Milnsbridge. Attended Milnsbridge Wesleyan Sunday School. Employed as a night piecer by Messrs Ben Hall and Sons of Milnsbridge. Enlisted July 1916. Embarked for France April, 1917. Killed in action, 20.9.1917, aged 20 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated on the TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
