Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

ARNOLD, JOHN DENIS. Private. No 32838. 1/4th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born 14.1.1899 at Middleton Villa, Swinton near Rotherham. Son of Mrs Harrilena Arnold, 11 Marsden Road, Huddersfield. Educated at Swinton National School. Was employed in the wool blending department at Messrs George Mallinson and Sons Limited of Linthwaite. Secretary of the Men's Class in connection with Buxton Road Wesleyan Church. Enlisted 17.9.1917. Died of wounds to spine, 15.4.18, at No 64 Casualty Clearing Station. Buried in MENDINGHEM MILITARY CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 9, Row E, Grave 37.
