The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

DEAN, JOHN. Private. No 13059. 11th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment. Married. Wife living at 'The Boy and Barrel Inn', Beast Market, Huddersfield. Employed by Messrs Proctor's wireworks, Leeds. Reported missing, presumed killed, 10.6.1917, aged 24 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated MENIN GATE MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
