Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922
The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- CURRAN, JOHN. Private. No 22751. 2/6th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Northumberland Street, Huddersfield, 10.8.1896. Educated at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic School. Employed as a brick maker by the Huddersfield Brick and Tile Company. Living at 84 Alder Street, Bradford Road, Huddersfield. Single. Enlisted 26.6.1916. Killed in action at the Battle of Cambrai, 27.11.1917, aged 21 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated on the CAMBRAI MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
