Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WHALLEY, JOHN ALDERSON. Fusilier. No 36311. 26th (Tyneside Irish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. Born Halifax. Son of the late John and Alice Whalley, 12 Whitcliffe Lane, Cleckheaton. Husband of May Whalley, 29 Green View, Wellhouse, Golcar. Killed in action at the Battle of Arras on 5.6.1917, agd 26 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
