Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WOMACK, JOE. Private. No 307685. 2nd Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Broken Cross, Almondbury, Huddersfield. Educated Almondbury National School. Employed as a tailor's presser by Messrs Haighs Limited, wholesale clothiers, St. John's Road, Huddersfield. Single. Enlisted 31.8.1916. Killed in action, 9.8.1918, aged 30. Buried VIELLE- CHAPELLE NEW MILITARY CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 9, Row C, Grave 9.
ROH:- Almondbury War Memorial.
