Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

PILLING, JOE. Rifleman. No 235192. 2/7th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment. Born Outlane 27.4.1888. Son of Joseph and Emma Pilling, Lea Farm, Outlane. Educated Outlane Council Schools. Employed as a dyer's labourer. Single. Enlisted 21.11.1916. Went out on a bombing raid and never returned at Bullecourt on 12.5.1917, aged 29. Has no known grave. Commemorated ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
